Getting nowhere fast

Been neglecting the blogger for some time now due to not having anything vaguely interesting to write about. Plus, I've sort of stopped with the drawing at the moment although I've still one spare. Besides sitting on my arse and trying to find a job, I've mainly been doing not much else.

Well, actually, I went to a Graduate Assessment Day the Friday just gone, and I'm supposed to be hearing from them tomorrow to tell me that I didn't get the job. For some reason, although I'd like to think I did pretty well, I don't think I've got it - just stepping into the foyer and seeing the other 'contestant' was enough for me to realise that out of the six there, I could probably best at 3rd or 4th. Aye, aren't I self-confident, eh? Anyway, we'll see but I'm pretty sure it'll be a no-no.

EuroMillions, then - what's it at now? Something like £150 by the time it comes round to Friday, as it was £125 last week I think. I've been meaning to buy a few tickets for the past couple of weeks, so third time lucky and I might just scoop myself a little bit of change. This the Chinese 'Year of the Dog' (Happy New Year, by the way) and it's supposed to be my lucky year, so we'll see about that too (assessment day was on Friday, two days prior to the new year, so that could be the unlucky feeling for the above).

And I think I'll have this journal I've been knocking around finally licked. It's been a long time coming and mainly due to me being a lazy bugger - and then I'll still have to edit it at some stage when it gets rejected. Ah, all the fun of being a postgraduate without that sinking feeling.

How highly unexciting.

Maybe I'll get a job as an artist

All this jobless malarkey means that I get to draw lots of crap.  Expect this to be a common occurrence, if not daily, until I get a life of some sort.

Art, but is it?

Finally, I can start my blog comic strips that I planned many moons ago.  My sister got herself a Wacom graphics tablet and, according to her, it's one of the best of the previous generation.  And I like it a lot!

So with ideas in mind and a 'pen and paper' at hand, I've finished off my first comic 'strip'. It's a bit strange to use at first because, for me anyway, it stretches my hand-eye coordination more than anything else has before - it makes me feel a bit retarded, but I'm getting used to it quickly.

Hopefully, I'll be able to continue with this calibre of work so that both you and I can enjoy it to its fullest.  Or not.

Happy New Year

Yes, it's late, I know.  But better than never.  Possibily.

Fireworks were impressive in London this year (on TV, as I didn't want to bother with the potential of getting stuck in London due to Tube strikes) - makes up for the few years gone that have been totally crap.  £1-million gone up in smoke (and lights)...

Be good for the New Year, otherwise Santa will come and get you.
